AccuWeather (www.accuweather.com) – Basic service includes over 43,000 U.S. 5-day forecast, International forecasts, Doppler radar imaging, and more. Premium subscribers receive real-time access to aviatoin weather section, direct filing with FAA, satellite pictures, NEXRAD, temperature band maps, current conditions, weather discussions, etc. A visual treat that is well organized and easy to use.
Aviation Weather (www.aviationweather.com) – This site has the brunt of what you need: SIGMETS, AIRMETS, METARS, TAF, forecasts, mountain wave, aviation icing maps, and more. If you need a refresher course in the abbreviations above a glossary with all of the requisite definitions is available.
Flight Brief (www.flightbrief.com) – Flight Brief offers aviators a solid choice for flight planning. Get live wx, Forecasts, Satellite Maps, Depiction Charts, Radar, Surface Analysis, Winds, etc. Fuel planning and airport information is also available. Nexrad Radar is updated every 3-8 minutes.
National Weather Service (www.nws.noaa.gov) – Take a look at the entire weather picture from an on-high view. Warning maps, U.S. weather bulletins, tropical cyclone warnings, aviation weather discussions, METAR reports, terminal forecasts, and more.
Weather UnderGround (www.wunderground.com) – A quick loading web site that is short on graphic thrills, but heavy on some of the best weather information on the Net. Search by city to receive the current conditions as well as the extended forecast.
Weather Channel (www.weather.com) – Quick, accurate weather information like: tropical updates, weather by city, forecast maps, wind speed/direction, relative humidity, jetstream info, upper air readings, and national airport overview.
